Interactive Menu Management: Menus & Modifiers

In this guide, we will display the steps required to add Menus via Interactive Menu Management on your ePOS Hybrid Admin Panel. Interactive Menu Management is an alternative to the standard method of adding/amending your Menus, allowing a live preview of your Menus, Categories and Items prior to refreshing your Operator App with the changes.

For a full step-by-step video guide on Interactive Menu Management, please refer to our Complete Video Guide.

To begin, access your Admin Panel via either https://www.eposhybrid.uk/ on an internet browser or via your ePOS Hybrid Operator App by selecting Extras, scrolling down to App Actions and selecting Admin Panel. Please note that if the user logged onto the Operator App does not have the Admin Panel permission setting enabled, this option will not be available. Please refer to our Staff Management guide on the ePOS Academy for further guidance on setting Permissions.

Once logged into your Admin Panel, select Interactive Menu Mgmt on the left-hand side of the screen, followed by Interactive Menu Adding.

The Interactive Menu Management screen will now open, allowing you to view existing Menus, Categories and Items, in addition to adding new items.

To add a new Menu, press the + Add Menu button, which will open a text box next to the button, allowing you to add the name of your new Menu. Press + Add to add your new Menu to the list of existing Menus.

If you wish to Cancel adding a new Menu, press the X to remove the textbox.

Pressing the Advanced icon will allow you to add an Image to the Menu, however this can be added at a later date by using the Menu section under the Interactive Menu Management dropdown - if you select this now, press Interactive Menu Adding to return to the previous screen.

Once your new Menu has been added, select the Menu from the available list, then select the + Add Category button to add the relevant Categories for each item.

If you wish to Cancel adding a new Category, press the X to remove the textbox.

Pressing the Advanced icon will allow you to add an Image to the Category and specify Category Availability Settings, however these can be added at a later date by using the Categories section under the Interactive Menu Management dropdown - if you select this now, press Interactive Menu Adding to return to the previous screen.

To add an Item to your chosen Category, firstly select the Category then press the large + icon underneath the list of Categories. Enter the Item Name and Price in the relevant text boxes, then press + Add to add your new Menu Item.

To Delete your Item, press the Trash icon on the top-right corner of the Item, and to Edit the Item Name/Price, click the Edit icon on the bottom-right corner of the Item. The Advanced icon will allow further advanced settings to be customised, and these can be updated at a later date by using the Items section under the Interactive Menu Management dropdown - if you select this now, press Interactive Menu Adding to return to the previous screen.

Repeat the process until you have the required Menus, Categories and Items in place.

After adding your Items, you can press the Back to Operator button (if accessing the Admin Panel via the ePOS Hybrid Operator App) to refresh your app to allow the changes made to take effect.

To Refresh your Operator App, select Extras, then scroll down to Refresh App on the App Actions section of the page to complete the App Refresh.

If you wish to add Modifiers to your Items to further customise your Menu, the next section of the guide will cover these points in detail.

In this section of the Interactive Menu Management Guide, we will display the steps required to add Item Modifiers to your system. Modifiers allow for variations to be made to menu items and provide customers with a greater level of customisation when ordering.

Firstly, we will display the process of setting up Modifier Categories, to then allow the Modifiers themselves to be created and assigned to these Categories.

To begin, select Modifier Category from the Interactive Menu Mgmt dropdown on the left-hand side of the Admin Panel.

The Modifier Category screen will open, listing all active Modifier Categories, the number of Modifiers within, the Category Status and options to Edit or Delete a Category

To Add a Modifier Category, press the +ADD Modifier Category button, enter the Category Name in the textbox and press Add to add your Modifier Category.

To add Modifiers, select the + Create Modifier button from the right-hand side of the Interactive Menu Adding page. Alternatively, select Modifiers on the Interactive Menu Mgmt dropdown to see the Modifiers screen, listing all active Modifiers.

The Modifier screen allows you to enter the Modifier Name and select the Modifier Category from the dropdown.

Use the Pricing tab to set a supplemental cost (if required), the Modifier Details tab to specify Allergens, Description, Ingredients and Calories (all optional) and the Tax Settings tab to specify VAT/Service Charge if applicable.

Once all relevant fields have been entered, press Add Modifier to add your Modifier to the chosen Category.

To add your new Modifier to a Menu Item, select Items from the Interactive Menu Mgmt dropdown to open the list of all Menu Items. Use the Select Menu dropdown to find your Item more quickly, then select the Edit button next to the chosen Item to open the Update Item screen.

Select the Modifiers tab, then press the large + icon to open the list of available Modifier Categories and Individual Modifiers. Use the checkbox for each option required, then press Add All at the bottom of the page to add your Modifiers.

Once the required Modifiers have been added, press the + Add Item button to update your Menu Item.

After adding your Items and making any changes to Modifiers, etc., you can press the Back to Operator button (if accessing the Admin Panel via the ePOS Hybrid Operator App) to refresh your app to allow the changes made to take effect. To Refresh your Operator App, select Extras, then scroll down to Refresh App on the App Actions section of the page to complete the App Refresh.
